Unbelievable

I spent too much time last night watching the hated Yankees. But the game was on and it was Jeter’s last game “in pinstripes” so…

As soon as I turn the game on, Jeter’s up to bat and hits a double. There’s a passed ball and he’s at third base. A grounder to first and he’s in to score the tying run.

A few innings later, with the bases loaded, he hits a bounding ball to the shortstop, who muffs the play and throws the ball into right field. Yankees ahead; Jeter is credited with the go-ahead RBI.

The Yankees are up by 3 in the top of the ninth, but two Orioles homers tie the game. Jeter will get one more at-bat.

Bottom of the ninth, Jeter's up third. A single. A bunt. And Jeter’s up with the winning run at second. And in a pitch (or maybe two) he hits a walkoff single… to right field.

Either eerie, or just plain staged. I’m rooting for eerie.
